Carnival Rehearsals

The Benue Cultural Carnival Grand Procession Rehearsals are a statewide cultural engagement initiative designed to prepare young people, cultural troupes, dance groups, performers, and community representatives for the spectacular grand procession of the Benue Cultural Carnival.
Taking place at IBB Square, Makurdi, by 4:00 PM, the rehearsals will bring together participants from across Benue State’s 23 Local Government Areas to coordinate performances, perfect cultural displays, practise procession formations, and prepare for a unified celebration of the state’s rich cultural heritage.
The initiative aims to promote discipline, teamwork, creativity, coordination, and artistic excellence while providing young people with an opportunity to participate actively in showcasing Benue’s diverse traditions, indigenous dances, music, traditional attire, and cultural expressions.
Through structured rehearsals and collaborative training, participants will develop the skills and confidence needed to deliver an exciting, colourful, and well-coordinated grand procession that reflects the pride, unity, and cultural identity of the people of Benue State.

The rehearsals will help transform individual talents and community performances into a unified cultural spectacle that celebrates Benue’s heritage, strengthens relationships among communities, and inspires pride in the state’s identity.
